Skineater: Dermal harvest
05/04/13 || sincan
Skineater recently released their first album but they are not new blood in the music business. The band consist of veterans in the relatively harder part of the music world, Matte Modin (ex Raised Fist and ex Dark Funeral) is again pounding skin in a real metal band. So how do these foreskin eaters sound? Well, they sound pretty old and at the same time very modern.
What they play is some kind of mix between old school Gothenburg melodic death metal and American macho technical stuff. Does this sound interesting to you? Well it’s fun sometimes, but mostly it is just passing by without making much impact.
Actually I think it is very hard to recognize the origin of the band if one forgets about where they are from, well of course I didn’t, since I never forget anything. Well that is a lie since I forget to pay attention to the entire album since it sounds pretty the same and has too many similar songs. My favorite track is Your life is mine. I guess it has to do with the pretty awesome tremolo riff. If you like metal that is harder than In flames, or I should say, if you like death metal that is pretty easy listened, here is your thing and add 2 points to the final score.
6/10: Better than new In Flames.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
